The Arkadelphia Badgers (1-2) fell to the Genoa Central Dragons 5-2 Monday night after a poor hitting effort kept the Badgers from scoring.

The Dragons’ (3-0) three-point effort in the 2nd inning allowed them to pull out to a 3-1 lead early, and from there, they never gave up the lead for the rest of the game. The Badgers scored on RBIs from senior Donovan Whitten in the first inning and junior Zane Hill in the fifth.
“We’re starting behind in the count and it’s not giving us good at-bats,” head coach Drew Loe said. “We’re taking ourselves out of the at-bats by starting behind, and even in high school baseball, we’re going to chase bad pitches and miss.”
The Badgers take this loss into De Queen Tuesday night for their first matchup of the conference season and their first game against the 3-0 Leopards.
