WARREN — The Arkadelphia Badgers’ (16-10) season came to an end Thursday night in their 52-36 loss to the Mills University Comets (18-12).
A hobbled Badgers team were further wounded after star senior Chris Gray went down with a leg injury midway through the third quarter. “I hate it for Chris,” head coach Garrett Garner said about his senior in his last game in a Badgers uniform. “I know how much he’s been looking forward to postseason play.”

Gray had just four points in the game before he fell down, making it one of few games this season where he did not score in double digits.
Junior wing Seth Golden had 13 points in the game, while sophomore guard James Elgas had 10 and junior forward Evan Bailey scored nine.
“It’s tough for our seniors and really all the guys,” Garner said. “I’m really proud of our guys tonight for a lot of things in the game. Injuries made us do some things that we wouldn’t normally do rotation-wise, but I will give our guys a lot of credit. Not one time on the bench or in the locker room did they make excuses. They just kept playing. As a coach, you can’t ask for anything more than that.”
This loss caps off another season for the Badgers, who finished the season 16-10 and third in conference play.
