ARKADELPHIA — Henderson State senior receiver Xavier Malone added another All-American honor to his resume this week when he was named a 2022 D2Football Elite 100 First Team selection.

Malone, from Mound Bayou, Mississippi, was one of just two wide receivers in the country to earn Elite 100 First Team honors. The speedy wideout was previously named a Second Team All-American by the D2CCA.
In just two seasons at Henderson State, Malone made his presence felt in a big way, accounting for 135 receptions, 2352 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. As the feature receiver this fall, his numbers took off and he racked up 1382 yards on 67 receptions and 15 touchdowns in just 11 games. He finished the regular season No. 2 nationally in yards and No. 4 in receiving scores.
Malone led NCAA DII in yards per reception (20.63) among all players with 40 or more catches. He had seven 100-yard receiving games this fall and scored a touchdown in 10 of the Reddies’ 11 contests.–
