TULSA, Okla. — No. 2 Henderson State got through 13 holes before play was suspended for the day at the Tulsa Cup, where HSU currently sits tied for third at 17-over par. Gracen Blount and Daphney Tilton are both pacing the Reddies at 3-over for a spot at ninth out of the 90-player field.
No. 15/21 Central Missouri has a two-stroke lead on Central Oklahoma for first and second place. Henderson is tied with Golfstat’s 19th-ranked Augustana and holds a two-stroke advantage over tournament-host Rogers St. and Northeastern St.
After opening the event with a bogey and double bogey on her first two holes, Blount evened out over the next 11 holes for her current Top-10 placement. Tilton had a team-best 11 pars on the day.
Allie Bianchi is tied for 23rd at 5-over par, followed by Jinna Boonbumroongsuk at 6-over par for 33rd. Lily Nelson rounds out HSU through three quarters of the first round with a 9-over par as she is currently tied for 60th.
No. 2 Henderson St. will return to the Par 72, 6010-yard Forest Ridge course tomorrow morning where the teams will finish the first round and attempt to play an additional 36 holes to finish off the originally-scheduled 54-hole event.
