Dispatch Desk: Wednesday, Sept. 7

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Tuesday, Sept. 6

4:10 a.m.
A South 11th Street woman reported being harassed by a neighbor.

8:34 p.m.
A 7th Street tire shop owner reported a pair of black males stole a used tire they requested he mount onto a rim that afternoon. When it came time to settle up, the men said someone would be bringing them the $42 but drove off with the tire once the shop owner busied himself with another job.

Monday, Sept. 5

12:30 p.m.
Police took a report of a child custody dispute that had happened on Walnut Street.

1:23 p.m.
Police arrested a Texas woman for criminal trespass at the Baptist Health Medical Center labor and delivery wing, as she was unwelcome due to a case in which social workers are involved.

6:44 p.m.
Officers arrested a Cabot man at Walmart for third-degree battery following multiple calls of a physical disturbance that happened near the vending machines. Witnesses told police they saw the man shove the woman to the ground and take her phone. The female victim said she first hit the man, her fiance, in the back of the neck before he struck her in the face.

10:16 p.m.
A Pioneer Inn resident reported a known male suspect threw her face-first onto the concrete ground outside her room because she refused to give him some potato chips she’d been eating. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

10:52 p.m.
A man reported being harassed by a known male at the 1500 block of Walnut Street.

11:32 p.m.
Officers tasered and arrested an Okolona man outside an apartment complex on North 4th Street following a report of an accident involving a utility pole. The suspect would not obey officers’ commands and resisted arrest, and therefore was tasered.

Sunday, Sept. 4

3 p.m.
A North 26th Street man reported someone rifled through his vehicle the night before. Nothing of value was reported stolen.

Wednesday, Sept. 7

1:50 a.m.
Criminal trespass was reported on property at Parr Road in Gurdon. No suspects were identified.

Monday, Sept. 5

3 p.m.
A deputy responded to a residence at the 2000 block of Highway 26 West for an unwanted guest who ultimately left.

8:25 p.m.
A Middleton Road woman reported a possible burglary. A deputy’s sweep of the residence revealed no signs of forced entry.

10:45 p.m.
A deputy responded to an East Whelen Road location to aid Baptist paramedics with an agitated mental patient.

Arrests in Clark County

Monday, Sept. 5

Lynette Shephard, 53, was arrested by Arkadelphia police for criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

Derrick Jermaine Preston, 34, was arrested by Arkadelphia police for third-degree domestic battery.

Tuesday, Sept. 6

Marcus Thomas Horton, 31, was arrested by Arkadelphia police for DWI, obstructing governmental operations, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest and refusal to submit.

Logan Lemay, 20, was sentenced to probation.

Taron Antonio Marks, 23, turned himself in for a warrant.

Jarius Keshun Warren, 23, was arrested for a warrant.

Wednesday, Sept. 7

Tierra Jeanette Okra, 28, was held for another agency.
