A car accident Sunday in Ouachita County left a Stamps man deceased.

Demetric Valdez Henderson, 23, was killed following a rollover accident that happened on state Highway 24. According to an Arkansas State Police fatal crash report, Henderson was traveling eastbound in a 2006 Mercury when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed into the opposite lane and struck a driveway embankment.

Henderson’s vehicle then overturned, ejecting him in the process. He was transported to the Ouachita County Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. His body was being held at the hospital at the time of the report.

Time of the accident was 1:51 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry, according to investigating officer Capt. Thomas Robertson of the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Office.
