The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Sunday, Aug. 28

3:07 p.m.
A woman reported being followed around town by an estranged relative.

Police opened a felony investigation into a felony vehicle theft.

Saturday, Aug. 27

Police opened a felony investigation into a breaking or entering.

Friday, Aug. 26

4:36 p.m.
A Prescott woman was arrested at Walmart for shoplifting.

Police worked a case of second-degree battery involving a juvenile.

Thursday, Aug. 25

12:30 p.m.
An officer was summoned to a nursing home to investigate a resident’s fall. No foul play was suspected. The resident, it was determined, had rolled out of bed and was transported to the emergency room for treatment to a broken nose.

2:30 p.m.
A C Street man reported the theft of a chain saw from his back porch, possibly by a known suspect.

Police assisted another agency in a case involving a juvenile.

6:10 p.m.
Officers cited a truck driver for failing to register his vehicle following a report that his trailer snagged a utility line running above the 1500 block of Walnut Street.

7:05 p.m.
A cashier at Dollar General, 2727 Caddo St., reported being assaulted by a customer at the cash register, saying the female suspect kept changing her mind on items she had on the counter. The customer went behind the counter, and fisticuffs ensued. Upon reviewing security footage the investigating officer determined there was no assault as both women were acting disorderly, the cashier aggressively pulling at the customer’s merchandise. No arrest was made, and the cashier was advised of warrant procedures.

Thursday, Aug. 25

9:40 p.m.
A deputy was summoned to a Kansas Road residence for a report of someone shooting and killing a dog, leaving it for dead in front of the caller’s home.

Friday, Aug. 26

7 a.m.
Deputies responded to the 66 eastbound mile-marker of Interstate 30, where four vehicles had sustained damages after striking debris from a tire blowout in the middle of the roadway.

Sunday, Aug. 28

9:01 a.m.
A deputy was summoned to a Hendrix Road residence for criminal trespass. One male was arrested, and a female was transported to a hospital for mental health treatment.

2:35 p.m.
A deputy responded to an East Whelen Road residence for a reported of a male acting violently and damaging property. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Arrests in Clark County

Thursday, Aug. 25

Larry Petersen, 37, was arrested for failure to appear.

Friday, Aug. 26

Kenneth Ray Ross, 57, was arrested for failure to comply.

Saturday, Aug. 27

Shaquille Lahuan Hardwell, 25, was arrested by Arkadelphia police and held for continued detention.

Candace Villere, 37, continued detention.

Montana Curry, 20, was arrested for two counts of failure to appear, driving with a suspended license, obstructing governmental operations and defective equipment.

Sunday, Aug. 28

Kenneth C. Holt, 59, was arrested for criminal mischief.
