A Gurdon man was killed Monday evening on a rural Clark County road.
According to a preliminary fatal crash summary filed by Arkansas State Police, 72-year-old Jimmy Don Currey Sr. died as a result of a one-vehicle accident on Kansas Road. The accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 18, near Boiling Springs Road.
The report says Currey was driving a 1979 White Motor Co. when the vehicle “left the roadway and entered the wood line, striking several trees.”
Currey was pronounced deceased at the scene by Clark County Deputy Coroner Corey Stover. His body was being held at the coroner’s office.
Weather and road conditions were listed as clear and dry, according to investigating Trooper Kendrick Davis.
