Early voting begins this week for the Zone 1 position on Arkadelphia’s Board of Education.
The position, currently held by Casey Motl, had three candidates vying for the seat, but a runoff was declared as no single person secured 50 percent plus one vote. Motl faces challenger Matt Johnson in the runoff.

Early voting begins Tuesday, June 14, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Arkadelphia Recreation Center. Election Day will be Tuesday, June 21, from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Rec Center. Polls will be closed Monday, June 20, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
