The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Arkadelphia Police Department

Thursday, May 5

11:30 a.m.
Officers arrested a man at the parking lot north of Pizza Hut for obstructing governmental operations. The man was caught lying to officers about a vehicle accident he had just been involved in.

Police opened a felony case of theft between $1,000-$5,000.

Police opened a felony case of second-degree battery.

4:54 p.m.
Officers were summoned to Lucky Liquor, 3035 W. Pine St., for a report of a disorderly customer swearing and screaming. The suspect had left the store prior to police arrival. Employees were advised of the procedure to have him banned.

Wednesday, May 4

12:20 p.m.
Officers arrested a Little Rock man at the 900 block of South 15th Street for obstructing governmental operations. He was initially taken into custody for outstanding warrants, and earned the additional charge because of his “excessive” attempts to resist arrest — sobbing and going limp while officers tried seating him in a patrol car.

Officers worked two separate cases of disorderly conduct involving juveniles.

Officers worked a case of terroristic threatening involving a juvenile.

11:39 p.m.
Officers arrested a student for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while patrolling the Youth Sports Complex. The suspect was parked near the gate on Flowers Road.

Arrests

Wednesday, May 4

Bruce Buckley, 35, was arrested by Arkadelphia police for resisting arrest and contempt of court.

Jimmy Riddle, 52, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Trent Collins, 26, was arrested for failure to appear.

Meredith Cordoza, 30, was arrested by Caddo Valley police for public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thursday, May 5

Wesley Wright, 55, was arrested by Arkadelphia police and held for continued detention.
