RUSSELLVILLE — Henderson State’s Spencer Taack was named Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Taack, a senior from Dallas, Texas, improved to 5-0 on the season with a terrific start on Sunday against Harding. The right-hander threw seven innings, allowed no runs on just three hits and struck out four Bison batters. His ERA is now an impressive 2.78 this spring, where he has struck out 34 batters and surrendered just 12 total runs in 35.2 innings of work.
In his last two seasons, Taack has a 12-2 record in 20 starts for the Reddies. Henderson State is 16-4 overall in games Taack has started since 2021. The GAC weekly award is the third of his career at HSU.
No. 16 Henderson (17-3, 9-3) is back in action again tonight when it hosts Mississippi College in a midweek clash at 5 p.m.
