The readers of Arkansas Outside have chosen Arkadelphia/DeGray Lake as among the Top 10 places for outdoors adventure in The Natural State.
Ranking 6th, Clark County’s jewel tourist attraction is in good company on the list, falling short only to Northwest Arkansas attractions such as Devil’s Den State Park and the Buffalo National River, as well as the No. 1 spot, Hot Springs.
Boasting some 40 miles of cross country trails with lake views, the Iron Mountain Trail System was one reason DeGray and Arkadelphia received 6 percent of the overall reader votes to land on the list, which was lengthened this time around to include more state attractions.

Arkadelphia and its lake topped more notable tourist spots, including Eureka Springs, Mountain Home and even Little Rock’s Pinnacle Mountain State Park.
“This area hosts mountain bike, trail running and triathlon events along with great fishing both in the lakes and in the Caddo and Ouachita Rivers,” outdoors writer Joe Jacobs wrote. “With two college campuses, there is plenty for students to do outdoors.”
