Sarah Stephens, 100, formerly of Gurdon, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Sarah was born on February 9, 1922 in Clark County to Clarence and Tennie Scott Brown. She was a member of Beech Street Baptist Church of Gurdon.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Tennie Scott Brown; husband, Barney Stephens; daughter, Rebecca Phillips; sister, Mildred Jones; and brother, Paul Brown.

Sarah is survived by a daughter, Paulette Perryman; a son, Steve (Janice) Stephens; 3 sisters, Ruth Stephens, Jean Bell, Muriel Hasley; 6 grandchildren, Todd Phillips, Eric Phillips, Clif Phillips, Rachell Sorrells, John Stephens, Paul Stephens; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Easley Cemetery fund.

Visitation is scheduled 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home in Gurdon and funeral service following at 2 p.m. Graveside service will be at Easley Cemetery officiating Bro. James McCain, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Gurdon.
