Dorothy Mae Hessling, age 85 of Bismark, Arkansas, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, January 12th, 2022.
Dorothy was born on April 3rd, 1936 in Smithton, Arkansas. She dedicated many years of her life as a house parent at Hillcrest Children’s Home in Hot Springs and Arkadelphia Children’s Colony in Caddo Valley. She was also a librarian at Jimmy Swaggart Ministries in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After retirement, she spent her days making the ABSOLUTE BEST peanut brittle anyone ever did taste with her side kick, Betty Rogers, at Juanita’s Candy Kitchen in Arkadelphia.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Diane Helm of Bismark, Judy (Darrell) Rogers of Bismark, and Patsy (Johnny) Kinder of Central. Maw Maw Dorothy had 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Dorothy is proceeded in death by her late husband, Raymond Hessling, her parents Robert C. Williams Jr. and Gladys L. Williams-Ellis and one sister Frances (Poochie) McClure.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 17, 2022, 12:00-1:00pm at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home in Gurdon, Arkansas. Funeral Services will follow immediately after with Rev. Jonathan Kinder and Bobby Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hedge Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
