Multiple law enforcement agencies Friday are searching for a suspect involved in an officer-involved shooting that happened Thursday evening.
Sheriff Jason Watson said on social media that a white male suspect walked onto an officer’s property near the junction of state highways 51/26 west of Arkadelphia “and began to destroy property, assault the officer when confronted and ultimately exchanged gunfire.”
Described as being 6-foot-1 and weighing 185 pounds, the man fled east on foot following the gunfire exchange.

Although the suspect’s name and photo were made public on Facebook, Watson wasn’t confirming whether that is the person of interest.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. Multiple agencies were searching the area on foot. Arkansas State Police dispatched troopers and a helicopter to aid the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in the search for the individual.
At midnight Friday, the sheriff posted police were “running down information that he could have had a ride waiting on him. This is not a random act, this individual purposely went to this residence. I will continue to check this area and will have extra officers out until I am confident that he is not here or in custody.”
