Clark County 4H announces new Kid’s Chef Challenge competition

Are you looking for an exciting and enriching activity to get your youth involved in? Clark County 4-H has the perfect opportunity for you.

In 2022 the search for the Kid Chef Champions will begin. The Kid Chef Challenge will be a monthly cooking contest for youth aged 9-19 divided into two divisions based on age. Involved youth will gain beneficial food related knowledge such as healthy eating, increased cooking skills, and agriculture/food supply career opportunities.

Cash prizes will be given to monthly winners and at the end of the year a champion for each division will be declared and awarded their grand prizes.

Registering for the challenge requires only a 4H membership and is due by Jan. 15, 2022. Joining 4H is free and offers vast opportunities for youth in the areas of healthy living, citizenship, science, technology, engineering, math, agriculture and fine arts.

For more information call the Extension office at 870-246-2281 or stop by at 640 S. 6th St., Arkadelphia. The offices will be closed beginning Dec. 24. Normal weekday business hours of 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4:30 p.m. will resume on Jan. 3.
