NLR man dies in I-30 crash

An I-30 wreck in Clark County left one person dead late Monday after his vehicle left the interstate and struck a tree.

According to a fatal crash summary released by Arkansas State Police, Norberto de los Santos-Sanchez, 32, of North Little Rock, was killed at 11:26 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, near the 62 eastbound mile marker of Interstate 30.

Santos-Sanchez was driving a 2007 Honda pickup when he traveled off the highway on the right shoulder and into the south roadside ditch. The front of the vehicle struck a tree in the ditch. Santos-Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene by Clark County Coroner Tim Welch.

Weather and road conditions were clear and dry, respectively, according to Trooper Kendrick Davis, who investigated the accident. The Arkadelphia Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Santos-Sanchez’ body was being held at Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
