Boone earns all-conference honors

BETHANY, Okla. — Ouachita Baptist University men’s soccer player Bobby Boone has been selected to the 2021 All-Great American Conference/Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Honorable Mention team.

Boone played and started in all 16 games for Ouachita this season. The sophomore from Richardson, Texas tied for the team lead in goals this year with two, both coming in a win over Newman on October 2. His second goal in that contest was a penalty-kick and a game-winner in the 88th minute to beat the Jets 4-3.

Overall this season, Boone had two goals, two assists, 20 shots, and 10 shots on goal, but according to Ouachita Head Coach Chris Lawson, his play away from the net in midfield is why he is worthy of all-conference honors this season.

“Bobby has been a key player in the center of the park for us this year,” said Ouachita Head Coach Chris Lawson. “He consistently puts in good performances, and he has become someone we can count on to get on the ball and have a positive impact on the match.”
