RUSSELLVILLE — Ouachita Baptist University women’s soccer player Alexis Perry has been named the Great American Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Perry shares this week’s award with Harding’s Emma Roberts for good reason. Both had four-goal performances in wins over Southern Nazarene this past week. Perry’s four goals came on Thursday in a 7-0 win over the Crimson Storm. Roberts netted four goals against SNU on Saturday in a 9-0 win.
Perry became the 11th player in GAC history to score four goals in one game, tying the league’s single-game record in the process. It was the first four-goal game for Ouachita women’s soccer since Haley Hatcher accomplished the feat against Harding on October 17, 2014.
Perry and the Tigers are back in action this week on the road against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday and Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday. Ouachita is 8-4-1 overall and 5-3 in league games, currently sitting in third place in the GAC with two weeks remaining in the regular season.
