The Arkadelphia Alliance and Chamber of Commerce on Friday hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at Heartland Pharmacy, drawing a crowd of community members and business leaders to the event. Heartland Pharmacy is located at 102 N. 27th St., Arkadelphia.

Clint Boone, co-owner, said the opportunity to open the pharmacy came last December when AllCare Pharmacy shuts its doors. Although several AllCare employees lost their jobs, Heartland picked up where that business left off.

“We’re glad to be able to come and be a part of it,” Boone said. “As much as I can say ‘Thank you’ to anybody, it’s to all the people working here. This is their doing. They make the relationships and were able to work together and get this going.”

Boone said he is pleased that Heartland is able to keep some local jobs in Arkadelphia and looks forward to growing a customer base. “We’ve been able to take care of a lot of folks,” he said, “and we hope to just go round up some more customers.”

Nikki Chandler, executive vice president of the Arkadelphia Alliance, said, “We are so thankful for Heartland Pharmacy coming to Arkadelphia. They have filled a need in the middle of a pandemic and have thrived because of the wonderful customer service that they provide.”
