BROWN SPRINGS — The East Clark County Volunteer Fire Department assisted four other agencies in dousing an abandoned structure that caught fire Tuesday morning.
A 911 call was made at about 10:35 a.m. in regards to a structure fire on Highway 51 near Brown Springs Road near the Clark/Hot Spring county line. Minutes later, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office dispatched the ECCFD to the scene to aid the Ouachita, South West and Lono/Rolla fire departments.
The Arkansas Forestry Commission was summoned to the scene, as well, as the abandoned trailer was fully engulfed and the fire spread to the wooded area surrounding the structure.
The cause of the fire was not known.
Both Hot Spring and Clark counties are listed as having a moderate wildfire danger, although neither county is under a burn ban, which is issued by county judges.
