DAY 1 TEAM LEADERBOARD | DAY 1 PLAYER LEADERBOARD
BLUE SPRINGS, Missouri β The defending Great American Conference Champion Henderson State women’s golf team picked up where it left off last season, closing the first day of the first tournament of the 2021-22 season in first place at 12-over 300.
The Reddies lead the 19-team field by three strokes as GAC-foe Arkansas Tech sits in second at 15-over 303. Following Tech is Nebraska-Kearney (+20), Harding (+21) and Northeastern State (+22).
Through the first 18 holes, Gracen Blount proved her All-GAC First Team selection from last year was warranted as she sits in first place at 1-under 71. Jacqueline Klemm of Arkansas Tech is in second, just one stroke back of Blount with an even 72.
Daphney Tilton and Allie Bianchi are each tied for sixth with a pair of other golfers as they both carded 3-over 75s on opening day. Bianchi tied Blount with three birdies on the afternoon.
Karen Lee finds herself tied for 36th after a 7-over 79 round, followed by Kathleen Escobar, who rounds out the Reddies with a score of 10-over 82 to sit in a tie for 58th.
Henderson will look to maintain its three-stroke advantage on the second day of the Central Region Fall Preview tomorrow at 8 a.m. at the Adams Pointe Golf Club.
