RUSSELLVILLE — Ouachita Baptist University sophomore football player Gabe Goodman has been named the Great American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after helping the Tigers win their fifth consecutive Battle of the Ravine.
Ouachita was featured in the AFCA Top 25 poll in each week of the 2021 season, starting the year at No. 11, climbing to as high as No. 6, and never dropping out of the top 20.
The win is Ouachita’s fifth consecutive over Henderson State, and gives the Tigers a 9-2 record to conclude the 2021 regular season. The Tigers now hold a 45-43-6 advantage in one of the most unique rivalries in small college sports.

ARKADELPHIA — No. 13 Henderson State will play for a GAC title and a likely NCAA DII Playoff berth on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Reddies’ season culminates in the 94th Battle of the Ravine against rival Ouachita Baptist at Cliff Harris Stadium.
The oldest rivalry in NCAA Division II and one of the most unique rivalries in all of college sports is set for its 94th edition this Saturday when the Ouachita Baptist University football teams hosts Henderson State University in The Battle of the Ravine.
