Come Jan. 1, Tracy Rider will leave her seat as Clark County justice of the peace and take the helm of county clerk, one of the seven major elected county offices.
There are two candidates running for Clark County Clerk — Tracy Rider, a justice of the peace running as a Republican, and Tina Johnson, chief deputy clerk running as a Democrat. This contest will be decided in the general election in November.

A longtime Arkadelphia resident, Rider spent 25 years in banking and office management prior to the opening of The Farmhouse in downtown. She also has served one year as District 5 Justice of the Peace on the Clark County Quorum Court.
