Clark County’s labor force exceeds 10,000

Clark County’s unemployment rate for September 2025, not seasonally adjusted, is at 4.8%, according to a preliminary county-by-county report released this week by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services. According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 10,035 persons with 9,550 employed and 485 unemployed. The unemployment rate four-tenths of a percentage point from the August report of 5.2%. During that period the labor force grew by 146 from 9,889 persons. Witness catches thieves, helps police crack case of vehicle burglaries

A watchful resident awake in the early morning hours helped point police in the direction of suspects accused of a rash of vehicle burglaries in Arkadelphia. Prosecutors are charging at least two of the four men police suspect had involvement in the thefts that occurred during the pre-dawn hours between Nov. 7-10, 2025. Tyshawn Eddie Thompson, 19, of Little Rock, and Kevin Dewayne Williams Jr., 18, of Mabelvale, were arrested following an investigation into the theft complaints. By AINSLEY PLATT | Arkansas Advocate Forrest Abrams of Fayetteville was 18 years old when he was found dead in a Little Rock alleyway with four bullets in his back. Darrell Dennis was convicted of the 2013 murder. A man with a lengthy criminal history, Dennis had been out on parole for five years before Abrams was killed despite being charged with 21 new crimes, including 10 felonies, since his release. Between 2010 and 2012, admissions to state prisons fell by 19.6%.
