In a narrow victory Tuesday, Bill Rogers was elected Clark County Judge.

The Hollywood Republican earned 55% of the vote to defeat his opponent, Michael Ankton, a young Arkadelphia Democrat.

“I am excited at the absolute honor to serve as your County Judge,” Rogers told The Arkadelphian in a statement prepared for the victory. “I look forward to working as a team with county employees and others to fix as many of the issues as possible that have already been brought to my attention. I want to make our area better and help it grow. As I’ve said before, I will wake up every day with a goal to do my best, and I will always strive to make sure that my best will result in great things for Clark County. Again, the words THANK YOU will never be enough. Let’s all pull together in 2027 for the best county in Arkansas!”

The county judge functions as the chief executive officer and administrative head of county government.

Ankton was not immediately available for comment.

Rogers had this to say about his opponent:

“To Michael Ankton, you have all my respect for running a great campaign. We both want to invest our time for the betterment of our county, and I hope we can somehow work together to achieve that. Denise and I have enjoyed getting to know you, and we think your future is very, very bright.”

Rogers’s four-year term begins Jan. 1, 2027.
