The following incidents were gathered from reports filed Sept. 21-27, 2026, at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Arrested or cited individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names, so don’t even think about asking.

1:36 p.m.
An O’Connell Street woman who in August reported that her daughter took her vehicle without authorization amended her complaint to include a number of unauthorized transactions to her debit/credit card, at various locations in North Little Rock, totaling $575. She was informed that a BOLO would be placed with NLRPD to tow the car if it’s located.
An officer took a delayed report of a hit-and-run of a vehicle parked in Clinton Street.

Felony incident still under investigation: Theft of property valued $25,000 or more, 900 block of Carpenter Street
Sunday, Sept. 27
8:07 p.m.
Patrolling Central Park on North 10th Street, an officer discovered a passenger vehicle parked at the pavilion, noting that civilians are not permitted in the parks after dark per city ordinance. Exiting his police car, the officer was approached by a female identified as Mariah Lanae Palmer, 18, of Little Rock. Catching a whiff of marijuana and asking her reason for being at the park, Palmer admitted she was there to smoke pot and relax, and led the officer to a blunt on the pavilion bench. Ultimately given consent to search Palmer’s vehicle, the officer found multiple open containers of alcohol in the trunk, as well as more marijuana in the glove compartment. Palmer was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor.

7:27 a.m.
Responding to a complaint of an unwanted house guest at the 200 block of Clay Street, officers arrived to learn that the female guest had left. The male caller said that, after she left, he discovered his wallet missing from his bedroom. He was advised of the affidavit process.

Wednesday, Sept. 16
An Okolona man reported being duped out of $2,500 after falling victim to a text message scam. He had responded to a message asking if he had made a purchase at an Apple Store, then phoned a number provided where he was told to clean out his bank accounts, put all the money he had onto gift cards and relay the card information to them.
Saturday, Sept. 19
9 a.m.
Deputies were informed of a hit-and-run accident at the Highway 53 overpass of I-30, learning that the suspect driver was located at Casey’s gas station in Gurdon. Arriving there, the victim driver relayed that he followed the suspect driver after she rear-ended him, and that she became aggressive when confronted. The suspect driver, Kaleda Norvell, was located on Highway 53 with her disabled vehicle and, after assessment by medics, was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving.
Monday, Sept. 21
A deputy was summoned to a residence on Womack Street, Gum Springs, for a complaint from an Arkadelphia Water Department employee that the residents were stealing water. According to the employee, the suspects had stolen water before at a Curtis residence by cutting the lock the provider had placed on the meter.
