Mae Jean Callaway, age 88, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at her home. She was born June 25, 1938, in Garland County, AR, the daughter of the late Louie and Ella Scott Sanders.
Mae Jean was a homemaker. She was a member of Hollywood Methodist Church until its closure and then attended Hollywood Baptist Church. Mae Jean enjoyed painting, going to casinos and most of all, spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors are her husband, Wallis Callaway of Arkadelphia, one daughter, Pam Thomason (Gary) of Arkadelphia, three grandchildren, Justin Thomason (Melissa), John Michael Thomason and Amanda Rogers (Waylon) of Arkadelphia, six great-grandchildren, Zane, Ava, and Macy Thomason, Dillon, Chloe and Brody Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Williams officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Justin Thomason, John Michael Thomason, Zane Thomason, Trey McNear, Jeff Thomason and Jim May.
