Vernon Clarence McGuffey, Jr., age 78, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Monday, August 17, 2026, at his home. He was born January 22, 1948, in Stanford, Kentucky, the son of the late Vernon Clarence and Mary Francis Currier McGuffey, Sr.
Clarence was a United States Army veteran of Vietnam. He worked in property management and owned a street cleaning business during his working career. Clarence enjoyed playing music in his rock band, The California Connection.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Brenda M. McGuffey and one step-sister, Charlotte Millikin.
Survivors are two step-brothers, Harold McGuffey (Mary Jean) of Dry Ridge, KY and Vernon R. McGuffey (Rhonda) of Crittenden, KY, four step-sisters, Sharon McGuffey Creamer (Thomas) of Independence, KY, Cathy McGuffey of Dry Ridge, KY, Carolyn Jane Johnson of Montrose, CO and Belinda McGuffey Runyan (James) of Dry Ridge, KY.
