Hot, humid conditions for Arkansas in coming days

The National Weather Service in Little Rock says conditions will turn hot and humid over the next several days, and that by late in the weekend into early next week a heat risk will climb into the Major Risk category across a large portion of Arkansas.

Conditions are expected to heat up and dry out over the next 6-10 days, with temperatures anticipated to be above average and precipitation to be below average.

Temperatures in the area are anticipated to climb into the mid to upper 90s, with apparent temperatures ranging from 105-110 through midweek, when the heat risk increases into the Major Risk category, mainly driven by warm overnight lows that struggle to fall below 80 degrees.

Conditions will be mostly sunny, with some wind gusts expected Friday and Saturday.
