Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop Tuesday ahead of an advancing cold front before becoming a line of storms across Central Arkansas.
Storms are expected to become a line as they push southeastward across the state into Tuesday evening. The primary hazards will initially be large hail and damaging wind gusts. A few tornadoes could develop with severe storms that remain isolated.
Timing for the Arkadelphia area and south of the I-30 corridor will be between 8 p.m. and midnight. The local forecast calls for a 60% chance of storms Tuesday night into Wednesday. As the cold front pushes through the state into Wednesday, scattered severe thunderstorms will be possible across southern Arkansas, with damaging winds and large hail as the main concerns.

Overall rainfall amounts are expected to be light. Across the state, some localized rainfall totals could exceed 1 inch, with the heaviest totals expected across eastern portions of the state.
Following the cold front, local daytime highs will top out at 70 degrees, with nighttime lows dipping into the mid-40s by Thursday.
