Dr. Moffat Zimba, chancellor of Northrise University, will visit Arkadelphia on April 26-27, 2026. Northrise University was the first private Christian university to be accredited in Ndola, Zambia.
Dr. Zimba and wife, Mrs. Doreen Zimba, are the founders of Northrise University. They were both born in Zambia but suffered from a lack of meaningful educational opportunities. As newlyweds, they heard and answered God’s call to attend Bible college in Australia, then went on to graduate school in the United States, where Moffat obtained a doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary, and Doreen received an MBA in Technology from the University of Phoenix.
In 1988, amid their academic pursuits, God made it clear to the Zimbas that they would be instrumental in God’s work of bringing transformation into the lives of Zambian students, who could then help improve the lives of others, together bringing change to their nation. This vision would become Northrise University.
Today, Northrise University Initiative has supported over 1,000 students enrolled at Northrise. As a result of that support, Northrise University now offers full accreditation and 12 degree programs in business, IT, law, nursing, theology, and engineering. Of its 800 alumni, 99% have remained in Zambia, taking up leadership positions in business, healthcare, government, and ministry. Equipped with servant leadership and love for their fellow Zambians, these graduates lead fulfilling careers and help transform their communities and nation.
Dr. Zimba will be preaching at First Baptist Church in Arkadelphia on Sunday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. There will be a drop-in reception for him at the home of Ian and Sharon Cosh, 2707 Mockingbird Lane, on Sunday afternoon from 3-4:30 p.m for those who wish to meet him in person. He will also be speaking to the Conway Morning Rotary Club on Tuesday, April 28, on the University of Central Arkansas campus.
