Betty Bowdle

Betty Jo (Thomas) Marshall Bowdle, age 90, of Antoine, passed from this life on Monday, April 20, 2026, at CHI St. Vincent Medical Center in Hot Springs.  She was born October 19, 1935, in Prescott, the daughter of the late Joe R. and Mae Stubblefield Thomas.  

Betty was a trailblazer in many facets of her adventurous life.  She had a passion for travel with trips around the United States and abroad.  Betty’s past experience of owning a GM dealership shed light on her expertise as she was promoted as the first female investigator of property recovery for General Motors. She later owned and operated Betty’s Floral and Gifts in Prescott and after her retirement she went on to become a master gardener and loved all things in nature.  Betty was a former member of the Prescott Lions and Kiwanis Clubs. Her passion for baking was well known throughout her community and family and friends.  She was a member of Antoine Church of Christ.  

Betty was preceded in death by her first two husbands, Glenn R. Marshall in December of 1979 and Robert Bowdle in August of 1992, three brothers, Fletcher E. Thomas, Robert Neil Thomas and Buford “Bill” Thomas.

Betty is survived by three daughters, Glenda Kay Marshall Hunter (David Luke) of New Madrid, MO, Barbara Ann Marshall Campbell (Mike) of Sikeston, MO and Kathryn Marshall Forbush (David) of Antoine, ten grandchildren, Luke Hunter, Jon Hunter, Lauren Cosby, Terra Bennett, Ashley Campbell, Maegan Forbush, Katie Forbush Motley, Matthew Hunter, Christian Forbush and Joe Forbush and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, Aril 23, 2026, at the Delight Church of Christ with Roger Genung officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Thursday at the church.

Interment will be in Antoine Cemetery. 

Pallbearers are Christian Forbush, Joe Forbush, Luke Hunter, Jon Hunter, Matthew Hunter and Todd Cosby.

Honorary pallbearers are David Forbush, Mike Campbell and David Luke Hunter.
