MagnoliaReporter.com: Magnolia Police arrest Stamps police candidate

Jacqulyn Y. Curry, 54, of Stamps, a candidate in training with the Stamps Police Department, was arrested Friday, March 27, 2026 by Magnolia Poice on charges of aggravated assault, a Class D felony; misdemeanor offenses of disorderly conduct and violation of the Blue Light Statute; and no proof of liability insurance, a traffic violation.

Magnolia Police said in a statement on Monday that about 4 a.m. Sunday, March 22, 2026, police received a report from a victim that someone was trying to make a traffic stop on their vehicle, and it was not believed to be a police vehicle.

The victim reported the person was driving a white four-door Lexus that had flashing blue lights in the front windshield. The vehicle had no police markings visible. The victim was in fear for their safety and refused to stop. This led to the victim being chased by the suspect vehicle through the streets of Magnolia, creating a dangerous situation. The victim was on the phone with local law enforcement during the chase.
