Weekend warm-up could bring record-breaking temps

High temperatures this weekend, March 21-22, could approach, tie or break daily max temperatures records both days, the National Weather Service in Little Rock says.

Saturday’s forecast high for Hot Springs is 89, which would be 4 degrees higher than the record set in 2017. Sunday’s high is expected to top out at 90, or 5 degrees warmer than the record set in 1995.

Above normal to well above temperatures will prevail across most of Arkansas through early next week. Despite a cold front that will push across the state Sunday into Monday, it will shift to the northeast and temperatures will be closer to normal early next week, the weather service said.

Arkadelphia’s extended forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies through at least Thursday, with daily highs in the mid 70s to upper 80s and nighttime lows around 60.
