Dispatch Desk: Gas station fight leads to arrest

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed March 2-9, 2026, at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Arrested or cited individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names, so don’t even think about asking.

Tuesday, March 3

8:30 a.m.
A South Peake Street woman reported vandalism to her vehicle.

2:36 p.m.
Police were called to Pioneer Inn, 115 N. 10th St., where the innkeeper reported a tenant’s guest had purposely broken a window. The tenant said the female suspect was angered when he informed her she was unwelcome, and that she fled the scene after shattering the window. The tenant agreed to pay for the damages.

Thursday, March 5

10:05 a.m.
Police collected a debit card someone found at Splash Car Wash, 121 W.P. Malone Dr.

12:35 p.m.
A resident of Southview Apartments, 650 S. 5th St., reported a neighbor would not return her house keys, which she lent to the neighbor upon being hospitalized a month prior. An officer advised her to make direct contact with the neighbor to retrieve the keys.

Juvenile report: Disorderly conduct

3:20 p.m.
A resident of Cox Mobile Manor, 3027 Pine St., reported someone shot his camper, likely when he wasn’t home. An officer observed the damage, which appeared to be caused by an arrow. A neighbor informed the officer that a juvenile in the park owns a bow; attempts to contact the child or his parents were not successful.

9:36 p.m.
Officers were called to a residence at the 200 block of Clinton Street for a domestic disturbance, arriving to find the male aggressor had left the scene. As police finished documenting the female’s injuries, the male, Lavery Markus Shepherd, 27, arrived and gave his statement, denying he had made physical contact with the woman. Due to the nature of the female’s injuries, Shepherd was arrested for third-degree domestic battery.

9:49 p.m.
Police responded to a dispute at Ridgecrest Apartments, 724 S. 10th St., where an intoxicated female complained of another woman harassing her via phone calls and text messages. She was advised to block the other party and contact law enforcement should they continue the harassment.

10:27 p.m.
Officers were summoned to the hospital ER, where a female was being treated after a known female maced her following a confrontation over infidelity with the complainant’s husband. Before midnight, the suspect female phoned police from Malvern to admit she maced the woman, but did so in self-defense. The next morning, she arrived at the police department where officers photographed the injuries she received during the altercation.

Friday, March 6

8:30 p.m.
Patrolling the area of Pine Street and W.P. Malone Drive, an officer observed a sedan traveling with only its parking lights on. Following the vehicle as it traveled in the turn lane, a traffic stop was made at Splash Car Wash. The driver, Timothy Bohannan Gowdy, 43, of Arkadelphia, exhibited signs of intoxication. Failing a series of field sobriety tests and providing a breath sample, Gowdy was arrested for DWI-2nd offense, refusal to submit to a chemical test (at the jail), driving with a suspended license, no liability insurance, and driving without headlights at night.

9:29 p.m.
Receiving a tip from a pizza delivery driver of child neglect at a Cox Mobile Manor residence, police responded to find hundreds of cat droppings inside the home. Due to the unsanitary nature observed, the Department of Human Services was contacted, and a hotline report was generated.

Saturday, March 7

Felony incident still under investigation: Breaking or entering, Arkansas Motel, 807 Highway 67

Sunday, March 8

8:30 p.m.
Observing a vehicle displaying an unreadable temporary tag, a traffic stop was made at 7th and Caddo streets. The driver was identified as Justin Antonio Daniels, 27, of Arkadelphia. Smelling marijuana, Daniels was asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle and gave consent to search. No drugs were found, but officers did find a 9mm handgun under the passenger seat. Neither Daniels nor his passenger, who was handcuffed and questioned, admitted to ownership of the firearm, and allowed police to take possession of it. Daniels was issued a citation for expired tags and given a court date.

Felony incident still under investigation: Theft of a motor vehicle, Feaster Park

10:15 p.m.
Observing traffic from Two Rivers Federal Credit Union’s parking lot, an officer saw a group of people gathered around a fight across the street outside Tiger Mart. It was learned that the fight stemmed from Cameron Clay Shell, 33, repeatedly harassing customers after being told to leave them alone. Shell exhibited signs of intoxication and was therefore arrested for public intoxication, and was advised not to return to the convenience station.

Monday, March 9

1:30 p.m.
A South 2nd Street man reported someone backed into his utility trailer, knocking off and damaging a pair of grills. 

6:30 p.m.
A Cupp Drive man reported a relative with mental health issues broke a bedroom window in a fit of anger. He was advised of the commitment order process, as well as the eviction and small claims processes.

8 p.m.
Investigators were asked to assist an agency in Gwinnett County, Georgia, regarding a stolen vehicle that had been sold Sunday at Arkadelphia’s Walmart.

Clark County Sheriff’s Office

Tuesday, March 3

10:26 p.m.
Deputies were requested at a DeGray Road residence for a man’s report that his estranged wife was taking pictures of his property from the roadway. Police spoke with the female and instructed her not to return.
