Weather service forecasters eyeing potential for heavy rain in early March

The National Weather Service in Little Rock says there is increasing confidence for a wet and stormy pattern over the south-central part of the U.S. through the first few weeks of March 2026.

Multiple days of rainfall are forecast through the first week of March, which may provide much-needed precipitation to much of Arkansas.

The first chance of rainfall occurs this weekend, with a 20-30% chance of showers Sunday and Sunday night, followed by similar chances Monday morning.

Following a cloudy Monday evening and Tuesday, rain chances will return Tuesday night, with chances building each day through at least Thursday, when the chance is 60%.
