Warmer conditions to close the week

After a bout with wintry precipitation and several days of sub-zero temperatures, spring-like weather is promised for early February—at least for a weekend.

A brief stint of cooler temperatures will prevail Wednesday, Feb. 4, behind a cold front. Warmer weather is expected to return by late week and into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock. Dry weather is forecast through at least the next five days, with rain chances possible again by next week.

Wednesday night will be cold, with a low of 25 under mostly clear skies. Thursday will be mild, with a high of 54.

Arkadelphia’s extended forecast calls for a high of 72 on Friday. Daytime highs through at least Tuesday will be in the low 70s or high 60s. Nightly lows will remain chilly in coming days, in the upper 30s.

Expect mostly sunny skies through Sunday, and increasing cloud cover beginning that evening.

The next chance for precipitation comes Monday night into Tuesday, with a 20% chance.
