State says 9,709 people working in Clark County

Clark County’s unemployment rate for November 2025, not seasonally adjusted, is at 4.7%, according to a preliminary county-by-county report released this week by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.

According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 10,189 persons with 9,709 employed and 480 unemployed. The unemployment rate fell by one-tenths of a percentage point from the September report of 4.8%; there was no October report available. 

Since the last report, the labor force grew by 154 from 10,035 persons. For the same period in 2024, Clark County reported an unemployment rate of 4.1% with a labor force of 8,998 persons. 

For this recent period, Clark County reported the second-largest labor force of the seven-county area surveyed, second to Hot Spring County.

Statewide, Arkansas’s seasonally adjusted was at 4.1% in November, an increase of two-tenths of a percentage point since the previous report. There were 1.37 million people working in the state in November, with 59,384 unemployed Arkansans. The U.S. jobless rate was at 4.6%, with 163 million employed and 7.8 million unemployed. The national jobless rate rose two-tenths of a percentage point over the previous report.

The unemployment rate for these Southwest Arkansas counties surveyed from September to November are listed with their county seat in parentheses: i.e., Clark County (Arkadelphia):

Dallas County (Fordyce) reported a 4.4% unemployment rate and a labor force of 2,785 persons. The jobless rate rose one-tenths of a percentage point since September.

Hot Spring County (Malvern) reported a 4.5% unemployment rate and a labor force of 13,345 persons. The jobless rate fell two-tenths of a percentage point since September, and the labor force grew by 85 persons.

Montgomery County (Mt. Ida) reported a 6% unemployment rate and a labor force of 3,051 persons. The labor force shrank by 51 persons and the jobless rate rose eight-tenths of a percentage point.

Pike County (Murfreesboro) reported a 5% unemployment rate and a labor force of 4,116 persons. The jobless rate rose eight-tenths of a percentage point and the labor force shrank by 224 persons.

Nevada County (Prescott) reported a 6% unemployment rate and a labor force of 4,116 persons. The jobless rate increased by 1.8% and the labor force shrank by 224 since September.

Ouachita County (Camden) reported a 5.2% unemployment rate and a labor force of 9,116 persons. The jobless rate fell one-tenth of a percentage point since the September report.

Elsewhere in the region, Garland County (Hot Springs) reported an unemployment rate of 4.4%, compared to 4.5% in September. The labor force grew by 167 persons.

Saline County (Benton) reported an unemployment rate of 3.4%, compared to 3.5% in September. The labor force grew by 61 persons.
