1 dies in 4-car pileup on I-30

GURDON, Arkansas — A Wisconsin woman died in a four-car pileup on Interstate 30 in Southwest Arkansas on Sunday evening, Nov. 30, 2025.

Cheryl Ruth Franks, 69, died after a collision near the 54 eastbound mile-marker, just east of the Okolona exit. According to a preliminary fatal crash report posted by Arkansas State Police, Franks was among three other eastbound drivers involved. The report states that Franks, driving a 2012 Lincoln Navigator, collided with the rear of a 2015 Ford Expedition.

Franks was med-flighted from the scene to CHI St. Vincent hospital in Hot Springs, but succumbed to the injuries suffered in the wreck.

The report says one other driver, 48-year-old Jordan Yamou, of Milan, Tennessee, was hurt in the crash. Yamou was driving a 2024 Ford Edge. A fourth vehicle involved was a 2025 Honda CRV.

State Trooper John Crow investigated the collision, noting clear weather and dry roadways at the time of the wreck, at 5:48 p.m.

Editor’s Note: Preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality reports sometimes contain information that turns out to be inaccurate. Typical errors include spelling errors in names, or incorrect ages; outdated hometown information; vehicle direction of travel; and incident times. The ASP sometimes corrects these errors in updated reports. ASP reports omit names of passengers or drivers who are not injured, even in instances when uninjured drivers may appear to be at fault. The reports also omit names of juveniles who were injured or killed, although we report those names when obtained through other sources.
