The seat for Clark County Judge has attracted three candidates, and other elected positions now include multiple candidates.
Several candidates have filed papers in recent days for school boards and political offices in Clark County.
The filing period ends at noon Wednesday, Nov. 12, for the political party primary election.
Candidates began filing paperwork this week at the Clark County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
The current list of candidates, listed by office and the order in which they filed:
Clark County Assessor – Ramona Vance, incumbent, Republican.
Clark County Circuit Clerk – Brian Daniel, incumbent, Republican
Clark County Clerk – Tracy Pruitt, incumbent, Republican.
Clark County Constable – George Hawthorn, incumbent, Republican
Clark County Coroner – Cory Stover, Republican. Coroner Tim Welch is not running for re-election.
Clark County Judge – Bill Rogers, Republican; Ron Addington, Republican; Michael Ankton, Democrat. Judge Troy Tucker is not seeking re-election.
Clark County Sheriff & Tax Collector – Jason Watson, incumbent, Democrat.
Clark County Treasurer – Karen Arnold, incumbent, Republican.
Justice of the Peace District 1 – Amber Taylor, Republican. Incumbent Zach Bledsoe is not seeking re-election.
Justice of the Peace District 2 – Amber Bailey, Democrat; Fred Phillips, Republican. Incumbent Michael Ankton (D) is seeking the office of county judge.
Justice of the Peace District 3 – Keith Crews, Republican; Vanilla Hannah, incumbent, Democrat.
Justice of the Peace District 4 – Llewellyn Terry, incumbent, Democrat.
Justice of the Peace District 5 – Jimmy King, incumbent, Republican.
Justice of the Peace District 6 – Stuart Thomas, incumbent, Republican.
Justice of the Peace District 7 – Jenna Scott, incumbent, Republican.
Justice of the Peace District 8 – Garry B. Johns, incumbent, Republican.
Justice of the Peace District 9 – Andrea Angle, incumbent, Republican.
Justice of the Peace District 10 – Wayne Baumgardner, incumbent, Republican.
Justice of the Peace District 11 – Tracy Drake, incumbent, Republican.
Arkadelphia School Board Zone 1 – Matt Johnson, incumbent.
Arkadelphia School Board Zone 3 – Ida Tramble, incumbent.
Arkadelphia School Board Zone 5 – Derek Helms.
Arkadelphia School Board Zone 6 – Chistopher Tennyson, incumbent; Michael Ray Taylor.
Arkadelphia School Board Zone 7 – Scott Speights.
Gurdon School Board – Barry Todd Nolan, incumbent.
Gurdon School Board 1A – Cassie Gonzales, incumbent.
Gurdon School Board 2A – Thomas Andrew Goodwin, incumbent.

Candidates are also filing for seats in the Arkansas House of Representatives and Arkansas Senate. The filers so far:
District 89 – State Rep. Justin Gonzales, Okolona, incumbent, Republican.
District 90 – State Rep. Richard Womack, Arkadelphia, incumbent, Republican.
Arkadelphia and Clark County are in the state’s 9th East Judicial District. Candidates for the position of prosecuting attorney and for judgeships faced a Sept. 11 filing deadline. The filers:
Circuit Judge District 9-East, Division 1 – Blake Batson, incumbent.
Prosecuting Attorney, District 9-East, Daniel Turner, incumbent.
Early voting for the party preferential primary, non-partisan judicial election and the annual school election starts Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026. Early voting hours will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays at the Arkadelphia Recreation Center, 2555 Twin Rivers Dr. Early voting ends at 5 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2026.
The primary Election Day is Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Polls will be open at one of several Vote Centers from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Early voting for political party runoffs, if necessary, will start March 24 during the regular working hours of the county clerk’s office. The runoff Election Day is Tuesday, March 31.
The filing period for the 2026 municipal elections will be noon July 20 to noon August. 5.
