ASHDOWN, Arkansas — A Little River County jury found an Oklahoma man guilty of Abuse of a Corpse this week for an incident stemming from 2024.
Chance Cathey, of Idabel, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 30 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for the offense.
Cathey, 35, dumped a man’s body in a well along County Road 106 in west Little River County, near the Oklahoma border.
Arkansas State Police were made aware of the incident on Jan. 2, 2024, when the agency’s Criminal Investigation Division investigated a report generated by the Little River County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities excavated the well, recovering the body of Bobby Graham, also known as Bobby Conley, of Tom, Oklahoma. Graham/Conley was 57.
Investigators believe he had been in the well for up to two weeks before police found him.
An arrest warrant was issued in December 2024 for Cathey. He was taken into custody in Idabel on Jan. 17, 2024.
