Arkadelphia’s First Baptist Church will offer a special one-day session of the grief support ministry, GriefShare, focusing on “Loss of Spouse,” from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.
The event, free and open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a spouse, opens with a video on finding hope and healing after such a loss. The video features expert Christian counselors, authors and pastors discussing topics such as what life looks like after the loss of a spouse, physical changes after losing a spouse, loneliness and anxiety, and moving forward. Guided discussion follows the video.
Saturday’s session will be held inside the FBC Education Building, off the church’s south parking lot, in Room 114. Participants may enter off Eighth Street.
Refreshments will be served.
First Baptist is now in its fifth year of offering GriefShare group sessions. A more in-depth 13-week program on grief will be offered later in spring 2026.
GriefShare encourages participants to experience a “journey from mourning to joy.” It’s also based on the idea that grief lingers for months and even years after the loss of a loved one.
