The Arkadelphia area can expect heavy rains Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, as a system moves across most of Arkansas.
The National Weather Service in Little Rock is forecasting a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day Monday for Arkadelphia, with a 60% chance of precipitation and rainfall amounts between 1/4 and 1/2 inch possible. The chance for rain decreases to 30% for Monday evening. The daytime high Monday is 82, with a nighttime low of 66.
More rainfall and the potential for thunderstorms remains possible Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday’s forecast is calling for a 50% chance of showers and a thunderstorm or two during the day, with new rainfall amounts of less than 1/10 inch. The chance increases to 80% Tuesday night for showers and thunderstorms.
The pattern continues into Wednesday morning, with showers and thunderstorms likely developing for a 70% chance of precipitation. Wednesday evening is calling for a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Followed by a slight chance of more wet weather Thursday, the extended forecast shows mostly sunny skies into the weekend, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the upper 50s.
In other meteorological news, Monday marks the Autumnal Equinox and official first day of fall for the Northern Hempisphere, with equal amounts of daylight and darkness. The amount of daylight will continue to shorten moving forward until we reach the Winter Solstice — the day of the year with the least amount of daylight — in December.
