Virgil W. Martin, age 90, of the New DeRoche community, passed away peacefully at his home on August 6, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in 1935, Virgil was the son of the late Floyd and Lena Frazier Martin. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Fronia DuBois Martin and two cherished grandchildren, Collin and Megan Corcoran.
Virgil’s life was defined by hard work, skill and above all his deep faith. He had an incredible ability to master anything he set his mind to do. Yet what truly characterized him was his unwavering devotion to his God, Jehovah. He dedicated his life as one of Jehovah Witnesses on June 10, 1944 . He lived that faith everyday, not only in word but through his loving deeds, showing kindness and compassion to all who knew him.
Those who will forever cherish his memory include his three daughters: Vicki Martin Corcoran (Jesse), Rebecca Martin Shelby (Mark) and Melanie Martin Emanuel(Brock), His six grandchildren: Jessica Gibson(Daniel), Heather Corcoran, Kienan Corcoran (Jessica-KK), Aubrey Kleinman (Adam), Misty Emanuel, Dillon Emanuel (Macey). His eight great grandchildren Harrington, Connor, Morgan, Samuel Gibson, Briley, Remington, Braxton Kleinman , and Walker Emanuel. He is also survived by his loving sister Linda Jones(brother- in-law Clinton Jones), several nieces and nephews.
Virgil leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and dedication that will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
A Memorial service was held at Caddo Valley, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Brother Scott Roberts of Monticello, Arkansas, a beloved family friend, officiated the Memorial Service.
