Real Estate: Central Arkansas propane dealer secures $8.9M mortgage for Arkadelphia property

Clark County real estate transactions recorded July 11-24, 2025, having a value of $100,000 or greater. A Faulkner County propane company has financed its recent purchase of 6.95 acres on W.P. Malone Drive in Arkadelphia. Sun Gas Inc., a Greenbrier company registered to Jimmy Reynolds, secured a mortgage of $8,946,967.39 through First Service Bank, also of Greenbrier. Sun Gas bought its acreage for $99,000 in May following an auction of several parcels of land once belonging to T.O. Shepherd. Sun Gas (or SunGas Propane, per its Facebook page) bills itself as a company that offers residential, commercial and wholesale propane services for Central Arkansas and surrounding areas. With offices in Benton, Damascus, Clarksville and Heber Springs, SunGas serves 28 Arkansas counties, according to its website.

Highlighting this round of real estate transactions is the $404,000 sale of a home on Timber Ridge Circle in Arkadelphia. Joe and Mary Jane Whitener, of Marshall, Minnesota, sold the 3,482-SF brick home to Michael and Debra Pannell. The Whiteners bought the place in 2013 for $200,000.

A home at the 200 block of Cherry Street, Arkadelphia, sold for $380,000. Dennis and Lillie Brown, of Water Valley, Mississippi, sold the 2,667-SF frame siding home to Lane and Alicia Reeder. The Browns picked the place up in 2018 for $99,000.

For $348,400 Liang Chen and Xiaoli Jiang bought a 2,602-SF brick and frame home at the 100 block of Apple Blossom Drive in the Magnolia Estates subdivision of Arkadelphia. Selling the property was Justin Griffin d/b/a Griffin Timberland Investments LLC of Gurdon. Griffin bought the home in December 2024 for $260,000.

A 1,752-SF brick home at Edgewood Drive, Arkadelphia, sold to Nicholas and Emory Long for $250,000. Sellers were Robert and Amy Evins, of Malvern, who bought the place in 2021 for $186,000.

For $235,000 Staci and Dustin Glover sold a 2,115-SF brick home at the 900 block of North 8th Street, Arkadelphia. Buying the property is Ouachita Properties Development Co. LLC, registered to Richard Stipe of Arkadelphia.

In Caddo Valley, a little over 14 acres including the entirety of Mitchell Circle sold for $232,000. The Willard and Estelene Thomason Family Trust sold the acreage and mobile home park to Parker Little, et al, d/b/a Glamping Plus LLC.

Alexandria and Ryan Brown, of Gurdon, bought a 1,470-SF frame siding home at the 3500 block of Arkansas Highway 26 West, Hollywood, for $225,000. Selling the home and 3 acres were Austin and Devin King, of Arkadelphia. The Kings bought the place in 2016 for $119,000.

A 1,419-SF frame siding home on Kristin Lynn Drive, Arkadelphia, sold for $158,000. David and Kristal Best bought the home from Whitney Ivy, of Malvern. Ivy bought the place in 2023 for $153,000.

In the Richwoods community, Ryan and Jerry Atkins bought 117 acres containing a mixture of cropland and timber on Hasley Road for $142,536. Sellers were Eula and Carroll Jackson, et al.

Wrapping up the last two weeks of real estate transactions, an Okolona home and 11.22 acres at the 2900 block of Bateman Road sold for $115,000. Mike Callaway bought the 2,273-SF brick home and acreage from Alex and Christy Winfrey, of North Little Rock. The Winfreys bought the place in 2001 for $107,000.
