Kenneth Goar

Kenneth Ray Goar, age 87, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at CHI St Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.  He was born January 27, 1938, in Imrove, MS, the son of the late Thomas Lafayette and Lela Lucille Broom Goar.  

Kenneth was a graduate of Improve High School.  He was employed by Fairchild Construction Company for many years.  Kenneth was a member of First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fixing things and taking care of honey-do’s in his free time.  

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Floyd Goar, three sisters, Hazel Hutson, Anna Laura Miller and Vivian Ramshur.

Survivors are his wife of sixty years, Marty Nix Goar of Arkadelphia, two daughters, Beth West (Rick) of Hot Springs and Angela Overcast (Lloyd) of Benton, one brother, Martin Goar of Sumrall, MS, one sister, Mavis Smith of Sumrall, MS, two grandchildren, Sarah and Samantha Overcast.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Welch Funeral Home with Pastor Zeke Allen officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
