The City of Arkadelphia issued 17 building permits with a total estimated construction value of $763,900 for the month of May 2025.
The year-to-date value of construction jobs in Arkadelphia now totals an estimated $3.31 million.
Records were obtained from the city’s Building Department under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act and include valuations of work except where omitted from reports. Here’s a rundown of permits issued in May 2025:
Arkadelphia Public Schools hired the Donaldson-based Hartsell Farms & Excavation to demolish Perritt Primary School and Goza Middle School. The former property came down for a price tag totaling $270,000, while Goza was razed for $263,000. Abatement reports were provided for both properties.
The Church of God, 1300 Pine St., hired Walker Roofing for replace its roof for a price tag of $12,000.
Farm Credit hired Palmer’s Roofing of Arkadelphia to tear off and re-shingle its business storefront at 2858 Walnut St. The job cost $11,000.
Banks CPA, PLLC, at 204 N. 27th St., underwent a roof job, with property owners William and Patsy Malone paying Keith’s Roofing of Hot Springs $9,000 for the job.
With rumors that the former Pizza Hut location on North 10th Street might become a restaurant that serves South of the Border cuisine, a permit filed in June indicates that the building underwent an exterior renovation to rid itself of the signature Pizza Hut appearance — particularly the removal of the hut-style apex. We’ll report more on that work in coming days.
