Suttle Ridge day campers collect 1,001 boxes of cereal

Camp Suttle Ridge, a day camp hosted by Suttle Ridge at DeGray, was held this past week, June 9-13, 2025. They had 50 campers who joined them for the week.

Campers broke into P.O.D.S. and rotated through different station rotations. These stations included STEM, team building skills, crafts and an adventure station. They also worked on a service project for the community, with a goal of collecting 1,000 boxes of cereal for the Summer Cereal Drive. Campers partnered with Angela Sexton’s platform “Givin’ and Grinnin’” and surpassed their goal, collecting 1,001 boxes.

Angela Suttle said, “It was something to see all the kids and community coming together for such a great cause. I am so grateful to all the leaders and staffers that came together to make Camp Suttle Ridge a success this year.”

Suttle Ridge plans to host another event for the community on July 5 fort their annual Celebration on the Ridge, a fireworks show that is free to the public. Gates open at 7 p.m.
