One clerk called his bluff and called police before he left in a red Nissan pickup with a white door. Officers canvassed the area in search of the suspect, with no success. Clerks were advised that, should he return and they don’t want him in the store, they should call police to have him trespassed from the property.

A female reported falling victim to a scam on Facebook in which she was duped out of $250 in two transactions. Under a profile name of Kessler Property Experts, the scammer reportedly advertised a home for rent on South 12th Street and required a $50 application fee and, later, a $200 deposit prior to scheduling a viewing of the property. With a bad feeling about it, the victim drove by the house to find a For Sale sign in the yard, and contacted the local real estate company listed on the sign, learning that the house was indeed for sale but not for rent. The victim then confronted the scammer on Facebook, who relayed that he’d found a renter and was removing the listing. The scammer then blocked the victim from further contact.

A 911 call summoned deputies and Caddo Valley fire and rescue to the Caddo River for a party of four lost kayakers. By 9:33 rescuers had the subjects — two adults and two children — loaded up and en route to River Rats. Seven minutes later a deputy arrived and, detecting alcohol on the adult male’s breath, asked him for identification. The kayaker, Zachary Ryan Taylor, 34, of North Little Rock, refused to provide ID and reportedly became verbally aggressive toward the deputy, but ultimately agreed to show his ID, which was in his vehicle. The deputy followed, and Taylor produced his identification and a cell phone, which he used to record the situation as he continued swearing at deputies and firemen, saying his rights were being violated. Taylor was detained, and his cell phone was confiscated as evidence. En route to the jail, Taylor pleaded for a chance to be freed. At the jail, he reportedly continued acting aggressively toward the arresting deputy, as well as jail staff and trustys. Taylor was booked on charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental operations, endangering the welfare of a minor x 2, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
